Word Play

As a blogger, you can't help but love words. So if you get a chance, see if you can pick up the small book called Words Fail Me by Teresa Monachino. She finds the inconsistencies and nonsense in the English language. It's quite entertaining. As an example, I like her section on antigrams.
"Whereas anagrams simply transpose the letters in a word to give us a new meaning, antigrams have a more sinister tendency. Rearranging the letters of the words on the left-hand page gives a new word or phrase on the right that opposes or contradicts it."
Some examples:

astronomersno more stars
funeralreal fun
honestlyon the sly
silentlisten
forty-fiveover fifty
medicatedecimate

And my favorite:

elvislives

Check it out. It's a fun read and the perfect book for the powder room, if you know what I mean...
